The concept of Homesick // started in Vietnam after working with local creatives in shared spaces, continuing through Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, before pausing at a co-working space in South Goa to map out this next chapter.As a brand name, it’s a bit tongue-in-cheek. Actual homesickness was something I didn't expect during the incredible privilege of extended, unscripted travel. When I bought a one-way ticket to Vietnam, I naively channeled my 20-something backpacking self—forgetting that I now have sons, a husband, a dog, and a life I deeply love back in Aotearoa. But wrestling with those annoying feelings of homesickness taught me to embrace uncertainty and appreciate New Zealand in a whole new light.Homesick features a collection of jewellery and art pieces designed across an eight-month Southeast Asian journey, now produced in my Auckland studio following my return home.
